One thing we’ve especially loved about Phoenix over the years, particularly with younger kids, is its incredible parks and playgrounds!
The Phoenix area has a variety of themed playgrounds, many with imaginative designs and unique climbing structures that the kids absolutely LOVE!

- Playtopia at Tumbleweed Park (Chandler, AZ): A 2.5-acre playground with different fun themed zones like “Farmyard” and “City.” Perfect for hours of imaginative play. 🚜
- Desert Breeze Park (Chandler, AZ): Features a mini train ride, splash pad, and scenic lake-perfect for picnics, playtime, and walks. 🚂
- Riverview Park (Mesa, AZ): Known for its towering rope-climbing structures and a splash pad, this park is a hit with adventurous kids. Bonus: It’s right next to the Cubs’ Spring Training facility. This is a fun spot to take some photos outside of it. ⚾️

We love the Homewood Suites because it has spacious suites to fit our family of 6. Plus we enjoy the complimentary breakfast in the mornings.
As an added bonus, you can easily walk to a number of family-friendly restaurants in Liberty Station so once you come back from a day of fun, you can enjoy a relaxing meal just steps from your hotel!

We have done both the vacation rental and hotel options on our Gatlinburg vacations and absolutely loved both.
🍴 We enjoyed eating at the Sunliner Diner in Pigeon Forge. It’s a 1950s diner with amazing food and good prices too! We have also eaten at Paula Deen’s and Timberwood Grill at The Island- both were great!
