Planning a family trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario?
You might be wondering what to expect when you get there and how you’ll get from place to place, especially if you’re traveling with kids and bringing a stroller.
This guide covers everything you need to know about getting around Niagara Falls with kids, including stroller-friendly tips, walkability, and how to use local transportation options like the WEGO bus and Incline Railway.
We visited Niagara Falls with our four boys and only used our car once, to drive to the Flying Saucer restaurant a few miles from our hotel, what is now Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview (formerly Embassy Suites Fallsview).
Other than that we either walked or used the Falls Incline Railway and WEGO bus.

From one parent to another, I know how important it is to find easy, efficient ways to explore a destination with kids, and this post is packed with practical info to help make your trip smoother.

Walkability in Niagara Falls with Kids
The area around Niagara Falls is extremely walkable and stroller-friendly.
The sidewalks are wide, well-maintained, and offer great views of the falls and nearby Niagara Parks attractions.
Plus, many of the must-see spots like Table Rock Centre, the Journey Behind the Falls, and Niagara Parks Power Station are within walking distance of each other.
You can also walk to many restaurants and shops as well!
You’ll find plenty of rest areas, benches, and shade, which can be a lifesaver if you have young kids.
And the best news?! Strollers are welcome and easy to have in Niagara Falls!

The Incline Railway: A Family Favorite
Since we stayed at what is now Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview (formerly Embassy Suites Fallsview), we were right by the Falls Incline Railway, which was so convenient!
➡️ It’s also the only hotel with direct access to the Incline Railway, which made getting to Table Rock Centre and the WEGO bus so much easier with kids.
With our Niagara Parks Pass Plus, we were able to use the Falls Incline Railway for 48 hours.
It took us down to Table Rock Centre, where we could access the WEGO bus system for farther attractions like the Butterfly Conservatory, Clifton Hill, and Whirlpool Aero Car.
This quick, stroller-accessible railway saves time and energy, which is especially important with tired little legs.
While you can technically walk down to Niagara River Parkway (the road that runs along Niagara River) and Fallsview Trail (the sidewalk that runs along the river and where you can see closer views of the Falls), it’s not immediately accessible from Fallsview hotels.
You’d need to walk a few blocks to find a road that leads down to Fallsview Trail.
Alternatively, you will get there much quicker by taking the Incline Railway which drops you off right there.
This is a huge time saver and really helpful when you’re pushing a stroller or managing multiple kids.
The Incline Railway is a must, and it’s fun to ride too!

If you want a hotel that lets you walk or ride almost everywhere, check out our stay at what is now Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview (formerly Embassy Suites Fallsview). The location was a game-changer for our big family.
Hotel Tip for Families
Looking for the Best Family Hotel in Niagara Falls?
We stayed here when it was still Embassy Suites Fallsview, but it has now been rebranded as Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview .
The location made a huge difference for our family. Being right next to the Incline Railway made it so much easier to get to Table Rock Centre, the Falls, and the WEGO bus with kids.
We also loved having a Fallsview room so we could watch the nightly illumination and fireworks right from our hotel room.
WEGO Bus: The Best Niagara Falls Transportation Option
If you’re wondering how to get to places that are too far to walk, the WEGO bus system makes it super easy!
It’s one of the easiest ways to get between top attractions like the Clifton Hill Fun Zone, Niagara Parks Power Station, and the Butterfly Conservatory.
The WEGO buses are:
- Stroller-friendly (just fold them up when you board!)
- Air-conditioned
- Frequent and easy to use
- Included with either the Niagara Falls Pass Plus (2-day access) or Premium (3-day access) passes
The routes are color-coded and clearly marked, which makes it easier to hop on and off throughout the day.
We either walked or used the Incline Railway and WEGO bus to get everywhere, and never needed to drive or use a car.
➡️ Not sure which Niagara Parks Pass is right for your family? Here’s a breakdown of the Classic, Plus, and Premium passes and what I recommend.

Can You Buy a WEGO Bus Pass Without a Niagara Parks Pass?
Yes, you can buy a WEGO pass without purchasing a Niagara Parks Pass.
If you only need transportation and don’t plan to visit numerous paid attractions, this is a great budget-friendly option for families.
You can purchase WEGO passes at:
- The Table Rock Centre Welcome Centre
- Most Niagara Parks attractions
- Online through the Niagara Parks website (most convenient!)
Passes are available for 24-hour or 48-hour use and give you unlimited rides during that time.
We personally used the WEGO included with our Niagara Falls Pass, but knowing this option exists can help if you’re planning a shorter or more flexible itinerary.
Driving In for the Day? Use Park and Ride to the Falls
If you’re visiting Niagara Falls for just the day and planning to drive, the Park and Ride to the Falls option can be a really smart way to save money on parking.
This is included with all of the Niagara Parks passes and gives you access to parking at Rapidsview Parking Lot (Lot C), plus transportation to the main Falls area.
If you are not using a Niagara Parks pass, parking here is $10 for the day, which is still much more affordable than parking closer to the Falls.
Parking closer to the Falls can get expensive quickly, especially during busy seasons, so this can be a much more affordable option for families.
If you are driving in but still want to use WEGO and the Incline Railway, this is definitely worth considering.

Is Niagara Falls Stroller-Friendly?
Yes! We were very surprised by how stroller-friendly Niagara Falls is.
From the sidewalks to the Incline Railway to the WEGO buses, we never felt restricted by having a stroller.
Many indoor attractions, even Journey Behind the Falls and the Butterfly Conservatory allow strollers inside or provide stroller parking nearby.
Niagara Falls really caters to families!

Should You Drive in Niagara Falls?
If you’re staying in the Fallsview area or near Clifton Hill, there’s really no need to drive during your stay. In fact, parking can be expensive and hard to find in high-traffic areas.
Instead, walk when you can, and use the Niagara Parks transportation system (Incline Railway + WEGO) when needed.
It’s more efficient and lets you enjoy your time without worrying about traffic or parking.
