Finding an accommodation for a large family is always a huge undertaking whenever we choose a vacation destination.
As a mom of four boys, I’m constantly on the lookout for hotels that not only fit all of us but also feel like a smart, stress-free choice.
In general, I’m pretty picky about hotels—I usually won’t book anything with less than a 4-star average rating (in fact, usually I only do 4.5 stars or above if possible).
And to be honest, many of the hotel reviews in Niagara Falls weren’t great.
But I was pleasantly surprised by our experience at Embassy Suites Fallsview. In fact, it ended up being a fantastic place to stay for our family of six.

Just a quick note
Everyone has different expectations and experiences when it comes to hotel stays. This post is based on our family’s personal stay at Embassy Suites Fallsview. Things like room layout, pricing, service, and crowds can vary—but I hope our experience gives you a helpful starting point for planning your own trip.
Is Embassy Suites the Best Family Hotel in Niagara Falls? Here’s What We Thought
Finding a hotel for a big family is always one of the hardest parts of planning a trip.
I usually spend hours reading reviews, comparing room layouts, and hoping I won’t regret my choice once we arrive.
When I started researching where to stay in Niagara Falls, I was surprised to see that a lot of hotels didn’t get great reviews. I’m pretty selective—I don’t usually book anything under 4 stars—and honestly, I hesitated.
But when I saw that Embassy Suites Fallsview offered rooms with THREE king beds, I was shocked and thrilled. That’s almost unheard of for a family hotel!
We booked it—and I’m so glad we did. It wasn’t perfect, but it ended up being a fantastic place to stay for our family of six.

Here’s what we loved, what didn’t work so well, and why I’d absolutely stay there again.

The Room: 3 King Beds = Instant Win
Embassy Suites is a brand I always check when planning a trip, and I was shocked and ecstatic to find out this location offered suites with three king beds.
When I saw that—I thought: Perfect! No one was crammed into double beds, sleeping on an uncomfortable pull-out couch, or fighting over blankets.
It gave us all space to actually rest and recharge.
The View: Worth the Upgrade
We booked a Fallsview room and it did not disappoint.
Even the kids were glued to the window.
Watching the Horseshoe Falls light up at night was such a fun way to wind down the day.
I loved the view because even when you were in the room, you felt like you were at the Falls. I could honestly stare out the windows forever!

Location: The Best Perk for Families
What really made this hotel phenomenal was its direct access to the Incline Railway.
With four young kids and a stroller, having a fast, easy way to get down to the Table Rock Centre and WEGO bus stop was priceless.
We walked to Niagara City Cruises, Journey Behind the Falls, and the Power Station Tunnel without ever needing to move our car.

Breakfast: Busy, but Still a Win
One of the reasons I like Embassy Suites is the included breakfast—and this location had all the usuals.
That said, it was very crowded during peak times.
The line for the cooked-to-order station was long, and it was hard to get to some of the hot items.
A couple of mornings, it was just easier and quicker to walk to Tim Hortons for a coffee and donut—which I thought was a win too!
💡 Real Mom Tip: Go to breakfast early to avoid the crowd or take a peaceful walk to Tim Horton’s for donuts instead!
A Few Downsides to Know
- Elevators were slow, especially during checkout times. They actually had an employee “directing traffic” just to help people get where they needed to go. Definitely plan ahead if you’re trying to get out with kids.
- Parking is pricey, but honestly—it’s not any worse than most big cities. We expected it.

If Embassy Suites isn’t available—or you’re looking for more options—here are a few other hotels in Niagara Falls that are popular with families and offer suites or larger accommodations:
Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls
Located just a short drive from the Falls, this resort features an on-site indoor waterpark and themed family suites. It’s an all-in-one destination, especially great for younger kids.
I’ve heard great things about this resort from other families!
The biggest drawback of Great Wolf Lodge is that it’s not walkable to most of the main Niagara Falls attractions. But if that’s not a deal breaker for you, it could still be a fantastic option.
It’s just an 8-minute walk to the Whirlpool AeroCar, where you’ll find a WEGO bus stop that can take you to other attractions.

Niagara Fallsview Hotel
This is another great option if you want to stay within walking distance of the Incline Railway.
The Niagara Fallsview Hotel is an IHG property that may be more affordable than the Embassy Suites.
While it may not be quite as spacious, it does have room options that sleep up to six people.
One of the biggest perks is its location—just a 6-minute walk to the Incline Railway, making it very convenient for families wanting quick access to Table Rock Centre and the Falls.

Sheraton Fallsview Hotel
If you’re looking for a more upscale feel and want to be right in the middle of the action, Sheraton Fallsview might be a great fit.
It’s located at Falls Avenue Resort, which includes three interconnected hotels, an indoor waterpark, and tons of restaurants. The views here are seriously impressive—floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a front-row seat to the Falls.
Pluses for families include direct indoor access to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark and being just steps away from Clifton Hill. If your family wants everything at your fingertips, this hotel delivers.
It may not be the most budget-friendly option, but if you’re looking for more of a resort-style stay with on-site entertainment and dining, it’s definitely worth considering.

Tips for Choosing a Family Hotel in Niagara Falls, ON
Choosing a hotel for a family trip to Niagara Falls can feel overwhelming—especially with so many options and varying reviews.
Here are a few tips I’ve learned that can help you find a place that truly works for your family:
- Read recent reviews from families. Pay attention to comments about room size, cleanliness, and noise levels.
- Check walkability. I like to copy and paste the hotel’s address into Google Maps, then use the “walking” option to see how far it really is from places like Clifton Hill, the Incline Railway, or Table Rock Centre.
- Decide what matters most to your family. Is it having a great view of the Falls? Being able to walk to attractions? Having enough beds for everyone? A lower price point? Once you know your top priorities, it’s easier to narrow things down.
- Call or double-check online for parking fees. If you’re driving, this can make a big difference in your overall budget.
- Make sure the room setup works for your family size. Some hotels say they sleep six, but that might include a pull-out sofa or a tight space—look for photos and room details.
These small steps can make a big difference in making your trip smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.

Final Thoughts
