Finding accommodations for a large family is always a huge undertaking whenever we choose a vacation destination.
As a mom of four boys, I’m always looking for hotels that not only fit all of us, but also feel like a smart and realistic choice.
When we visited Niagara Falls, we stayed at Embassy Suites Fallsview, which has now been rebranded as Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview.
Even though the name has changed, the biggest reasons we loved it are still the same: the incredible location, Fallsview rooms, and direct access to the Incline Railway.
For our family of six, it ended up being a fantastic place to stay.

Why We Chose This Hotel for Our Family
Finding the right hotel for a family of six always takes a little extra planning.
I spend quite a bit of time reading reviews, comparing room layouts, and hoping I won’t regret my choice once we arrive.
When I started researching where to stay in Niagara Falls, I was surprised to see that a lot of hotels didn’t get great reviews. I’m pretty selective. I usually don’t book anything under 4 stars, and honestly, I hesitated.
But when we booked, it was still Embassy Suites Fallsview, and I was shocked to find rooms with THREE king beds. That is almost unheard of for a family hotel.
We booked it, and I’m so glad we did.
It wasn’t perfect, but it ended up being a fantastic place to stay for our family of six.

Here’s what we loved, what didn’t work so well, and why I’d absolutely stay there again.
The Room: Why It Worked So Well for Our Family
Embassy Suites is a brand I always check when planning a trip, so I was excited to find out this location had room layouts that actually worked for larger families.
When we stayed there as Embassy Suites, we booked a room with three king beds, which honestly felt like hitting the jackpot for a family of six.
No one was crammed into double beds, sleeping on an uncomfortable pull-out couch, or fighting over blankets.
Everyone had their own space, and we were actually able to rest and recharge after long days exploring Niagara Falls.
Now that the hotel has transitioned to Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, the exact room setup may be different, but they still offer several layouts that work well for bigger families, including options like 2 queens plus a king, 3 queens, 4 queens, and other larger suite-style rooms.
I would definitely take time to look through the room options when booking so you can find the best fit for your family.
The View: Worth the Upgrade
We booked a Fallsview room and it did not disappoint.
Even the kids were glued to the window.
Watching the Horseshoe Falls light up at night was such a fun way to wind down the day.
I loved the view because even when you were in the room, you felt like you were at the Falls. I could honestly stare out the windows forever!
Location: The Best Perk for Families
What really made this hotel phenomenal was its direct access to the Incline Railway.
With four young kids and a stroller, having a fast, easy way to get down to the Table Rock Centre and WEGO bus stop was priceless.
We walked to Niagara City Cruises, Journey Behind the Falls, and the Power Station Tunnel without ever needing to move our car.

Breakfast: What Changed with the Hyatt Regency
One of the reasons I originally liked booking Embassy Suites was the included breakfast, and during our stay, it had all the usuals.
That said, it was very crowded during peak times.
The line for the cooked-to-order station was long, and it was hard to get to some of the hot items.
A couple of mornings, it was honestly easier and quicker to walk to Tim Hortons for a coffee and donut, which we enjoyed just as much!
Now that the hotel has transitioned to Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, complimentary breakfast is no longer included.
Breakfast is still available at the Hyatt Fallsview Restaurant on the 9th floor with beautiful views of Niagara Falls, but it is now an added cost to factor into your trip budget.
There is also a Starbucks inside the hotel, plus a small market with fruit, parfaits, and other quick grab-and-go options, which can be really helpful with kids.
And of course, Tim Hortons is still an easy nearby option if you want something quick and simple.

A Few Downsides to Know
No hotel is perfect, and there were a couple things worth knowing before booking.
The elevators were slow, especially during busy checkout times. They actually had an employee helping direct traffic just to keep people moving. If you’re trying to get out the door with kids, definitely plan a little extra time.
Parking is pricey, but honestly, that felt pretty standard for a major tourist area like Niagara Falls. We expected it, so it wasn’t a deal breaker for us.
Since the hotel is now operating as Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, some of the day-to-day experience may be a little different, but location and convenience were still the biggest reasons we would stay here again.

Mom Tip: Stay Near the Incline Railway
Looking for the Perfect Place to Stay in Niagara Falls?
We stayed here when it was still Embassy Suites Fallsview, but it has now been rebranded as Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview .
If location matters most to you, this is still one of the best hotel options for families. Being right next to the Incline Railway made getting to Table Rock Centre, the Falls, and the WEGO bus so much easier with kids.
We also loved having a Fallsview room because we could watch the nightly illumination and fireworks right from our hotel room.
Just note that complimentary breakfast is no longer included now that the hotel operates as Hyatt Regency, so that is something to factor into your budget when booking.
Other Family-Friendly Hotels in Niagara Falls for Large Families
If Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview isn’t available, or you’re looking for more options, here are a few other hotels in Niagara Falls that are popular with families and offer suites or larger accommodations:
Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls
Located just a short drive from the Falls, this resort features an on-site indoor waterpark and themed family suites. It’s an all-in-one destination, especially great for younger kids.
I’ve heard great things about this resort from other families!
The biggest drawback of Great Wolf Lodge is that it’s not walkable to most of the main Niagara Falls attractions. But if that’s not a deal breaker for you, it could still be a fantastic option.
It’s just an 8-minute walk to the Whirlpool AeroCar, where you can catch the WEGO bus to other attractions.

Niagara Fallsview Hotel
This is another great option if you want to stay within walking distance of the Incline Railway.
The Niagara Fallsview Hotel is an IHG property that may be more affordable than the Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview.
While it may not be quite as spacious, it does have room options that sleep up to six people, which can be a huge help for bigger families.
One of the biggest perks is the location. It’s just about a 6-minute walk to the Incline Railway, making it very convenient for families wanting quick access to Table Rock Centre and the Falls.

Sheraton Fallsview Hotel
If you’re looking for a more upscale feel and want to be right in the middle of the action, Sheraton Fallsview might be a great fit.
It’s located at Falls Avenue Resort, which includes three interconnected hotels, an indoor waterpark, and tons of restaurants.
The views here are seriously impressive, with floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a front-row seat to the Falls.
One of the biggest perks for families is the location. It is less than a 5-minute walk to Clifton Hill and close to so many of the main Niagara Falls attractions, which makes getting around really easy.
There is also direct access to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, which is a huge plus for families.
Just note that waterpark access is not automatically included with every room.
There are specific packages that include waterpark admission, so I would double check that when booking if that is important for your family.
The biggest thing to consider is room size.
While the location is amazing, the room layouts may not feel quite as spacious for larger families compared to options like Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview or Great Wolf Lodge.
If your family wants everything close by and more of a resort-style stay, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Tips for Choosing a Family Hotel in Niagara Falls
Choosing a hotel for a family trip to Niagara Falls can feel overwhelming, especially with so many options and mixed reviews.
Here are a few things I always look for when booking for our family of six:
Read Recent Reviews from Families
Pay close attention to comments about room size, cleanliness, noise levels, and elevators. Reviews from other families usually tell you much more than the hotel description does.
Check Walkability
I like to copy and paste the hotel’s address into Google Maps and use the walking option to see how far it really is from places like Clifton Hill, the Incline Railway, or Table Rock Centre.
A hotel may say “close to the Falls,” but that can mean very different things.
Decide What Matters Most to Your Family
Do you want a Fallsview room? Free breakfast? Enough beds for everyone? The ability to walk to attractions?
Knowing your top priorities makes it much easier to narrow things down.
Double Check Parking Fees
If you are driving, parking can make a big difference in your overall budget. I always check this before booking.
Look Closely at the Room Layout
Some hotels say they sleep six, but that might mean one pull-out sofa and a very tight setup. I always look at photos and room details before booking.
These small steps can make a huge difference in making your trip smoother and less stressful.
Final Thoughts
When we stayed there, it was still Embassy Suites Fallsview. Now it has been rebranded as Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, but I would still absolutely recommend this location for big families.
The location, Fallsview rooms, and direct access to the Incline Railway made a huge difference for our trip.
No hotel is perfect, but for our family of six, this ended up being the best fit and somewhere I would gladly stay again.
If location and walkability matter most to your family, this is still one of the best hotel options in Niagara Falls.
