Las Vegas as a Family Destination
Believe it or not, Las Vegas is an incredible family-friendly vacation destination.
Families can stay on the Strip or off of it.
If you prefer more space and a break from the hustle and bustle, the Las Vegas area offers numerous vacation rentals to accommodate your needs.
However, if staying on the Strip is a must-do, consider the New York-New York Hotel and Casino for a central and family-friendly stay.
What I love most about Las Vegas is its abundance of kid-friendly attractions.
On the Strip, there’s no shortage of excitement as you explore all the hotels. Highlights include the Statue of Liberty and Hershey Store at the New York- New York, the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the Venetian’s charming canals, and the flamingos at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
Venturing off the Strip opens up a world of even more free and affordable activities for families to enjoy.
Experience attractions such as the incredible Fremont Experience, Downtown Container Park, Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden.
For families seeking a scenic adventure, a short drive to the Hoover Dam or Valley of Fire State Park offers unforgettable experiences.
And, let’s not forget about the multitude of fantastic shows in Las Vegas that are perfect for families.
These attractions are just a glimpse of the family-friendly wonders waiting to be explored in Las Vegas and its surrounding areas.
Whether you are seeking thrills, natural beauty, or unforgettable entertainment, Las Vegas has something for everyone in the family to enjoy!
Considerations for Choosing a Family-Friendly Show in Vegas
If your family wants to see a show or two in Las Vegas, there are a few key factors to consider before choosing a show.
For one, you will want to find out the content of the show and if it is not only appropriate for your children’s ages but also if it will be engaging for them.
For instance, when I took my eight-year-old son to see the Michael Jackson ONE show by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay, I knew he loved Michael Jackson’s music, so I anticipated he would really enjoy it, and he did!
Another important consideration is the duration of the show. Before booking tickets, I always check the show’s runtime and whether there’s an intermission. This helps me gauge whether my kids can maintain their attention for the entirety of the show.
Additionally, you will want to consider the time of the show. Opting for an earlier evening show or even a matinee would be ideal especially for younger ones.
Finally, consider the level of interactivity and engagement offered during the show. Kids love opportunities to participate and be involved, so opting for a show with interactive elements will make the show more enjoyable for them.
Dinner shows such as the Tournament of Kings or a high energy performances such as Blue Man Group are great choices for keeping the kids entertained and engaged.
Magic shows are also very interactive and offer surprising elements that are entertaining for kids and will keep them on the edge of their seats.
By considering these factors, you can ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
