What You’ll See – Inside, you’ll find unique rock formations, tight passageways, and eerie lighting that make the tour feel adventurous yet fun.

Bending Low! – At certain points, you will need to bend over super low because the cave ceiling gets really tight. I actually sat on the bottom of the boat during this part to avoid hitting my head!

I was a little nervous about my kids keeping their heads down, but they did a great job listening.

We put our youngest in between my husband and me so he couldn’t reach out of the boat or risk falling into the water.

Tour Guide Fun – Our guide told lots of corny jokes that my kids absolutely loved! They also enjoyed asking him questions, and he did a fantastic job responding to them.

Lights Out Moment – The cave is generally well-lit, but at one point, the guide turned off all the lights so we could experience true pitch-black darkness. While this was a cool experience for us, it might be a little scary for some kids.

• Parking can be tricky. It’s not super clear where to park since the area is surrounded by campsites. Once you park, you’ll walk across a boardwalk-style bridge that crosses a creek to reach the store where you can purchase your cave tour tickets.

Beyond the boat tour, we spent some time exploring the area:

• Photo Opportunity – There’s a fun sign where you can put your head through some holes that says “We Just Loved Our Visit to Spook Cave.”

• Playground – My kids burned off some energy for a few minutes right when we arrived at Spook Cave.

• Gift Shop – They loved looking at the souvenirs, and I actually bought myself a cute Spook Cave sweatshirt!

• Snacks & Ice Cream – The store sells drinks, snacks, and ice cream treats, which was perfect for a hot day.

• Wood Carvings – There are some cool wooden sculptures outside worth checking out.

• Gem Mining – You can purchase bags for mining at the Water Wheel station, which looked like a fun hands-on activity.

• Beulah Falls – A small waterfall along the Bloody Run Trout Stream. We skipped it since it was a scorching day, but it’s worth checking out if the weather is nice.
