FROM LAS VEGAS TO VALLEY OF FIRE HIKING THE FIRE WAVE TRAIL

By Katie Wittry

The Fire Wave Trail is one of the most popular hikes in Valley of Fire State Park.

It is not surprising that it is so popular because this hike is not only gorgeous but also fun!

The kids LOVED climbing up and down the huge rock formations on this hike!

A close up view of the rock formations reveal the amazing color variations  of rock on this trail.

This trail has many scenic views that are so stunning. The contrast of the blue sky and rock colors is incredible!

Fire Wave Trail is 1.5 miles out and back unless you decide to add on the Pastel Canyon Trail.

You can continue on from the Fire Wave Trail to the Pastel Canyon Trail.

I highly recommend hiking the extra .3 miles with the addition of Pastel Canyon.

Take note that the Fire Wave trail is closed June 1-October 1 because of extreme heat.
